Dear Friends,

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted something on my blog and now I am happy to say that I’m back. I spent the summer teaching retreats (Spirit Rock and Europe) and then recharging as I reconnected with my first mentor and inspiration, Ram Dass, in Hawaii.

I’m now eager to share reflections and inspirations that are moving me, and I hope will move you as well, to bring out our goodness and make a difference in the world. We plan to have regular blog offerings for you that will include not only my column but also inspiring video clips from past Awakening Joy guest teachers, Awakening Joy for Kids and other treats. In addition to this blog you can hear recordings of my current and past talks through Dharma Seed. You might enjoy my recent talk “Behind is Just a State of Mind.

The first week of October in the Buddhist community is Earth Care Week. So I wanted to let you know about an extraordinary series of five free online conversations starting next Sunday, October 5 on “Mindfulness and Climate Action.” The first conversation is with Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach and Ruth King. I’ll be on Week 3.

There are over 1,100 people registered for these interactive calls, which will be recorded. You can click here for more details and to sign up for the series.

I also thought I’d share an article I wrote last week on this topic for the Huffington Post entitled “The Contagion of Goodness: NYC Climate March.” I hope you enjoy it and the blog posts soon to come.

Wishing you all good things,

James
