Awakening Joy Video Project: An Invitation

Dear Bay Area Friends,

We would like to invite you to a one-time opportunity to be part of a special event. As some of you may know, the Awakening Joy course has been used by organizations with great success and we’ve decided to film the entire course as a package for use in organizations and companies.

We’re looking for some friendly faces to inspire the best presentation of the Awakening Joy material and want to invite you to come free of charge to the filming.

The Plan – When and Where
If you participate in the Awakening Joy Video Project you will be part of a filmed studio audience. There will be twelve segments of up to 90 minutes each over a four-day period from May 17-20 at the Brower Center in downtown Berkeley. There is no spot in the theater designated as “off-camera” as in the regular onsite classes. Everyone will sign a waiver for permission to film just as our live audience always does.

Sign Up and Bring Friends
You can sign up for as many or as few segments as you like by using the Survey Monkey link here, but it is important to keep your commitment. We’ll be taking people on a first-come first-serve basis. PLEASE NOTE: Once you select your times and register on Survey Monkey, you will not be able to return to the above link so please take careful notes of your scheduled times. If you have any questions, please contact admin@awakeningjoy.info.

You’re also welcome to invite friends, but they should be aware they will not be experiencing the whole course with guest speakers nor guided meditations with Patricia Ellsberg. I will be presenting the basic material along with Jane leading some exercises. So it will be more a taste of the course for new people and a chance to review the principles for those who are familiar with the material.

Important Information If You Attend
As we are trying to appeal to a professional audience business casual dress is appreciated–long sleeve shirts, sweaters, cardigans or jackets.

Once we close the doors to begin filming a segment, the doors will stay closed. We can’t allow any “in or out” because we would have to stop the recording and start over again. We will take breaks between sessions to let people move around, use the restroom, enter or leave. There will be breaks for lunch with plenty of time to go grab a bite to eat or bring your own, if you prefer.

Please help us bring the Awakening Joy message to viewers around the world by being a studio audience member. Sign up for this special filming here. We look forward to sharing this with you and your friends.

Thank you,

James and the Awakening Joy Team
